Bio: Monty Holden
Vice President Monty Holden retired as a sergeant with the Bell Gardens, Ca., police department after a 20-year career in law enforcement. During his tenure with Bell Gardens, he served as the president of the Bell Gardens Police Officers Association seven times and as a Director for the California Organization of Police and Sheriffs (COPS) for five years.
After retiring from active law enforcement, Me. Holden joined the staff of COPS as the Director of Field Operations for three years, and has been the Executive Director of the organization since January 2000. Since 2001, Me. Holden has also served as president of a 501(C) 3 charitable foundation, the Law Enforcement Apprenticeship Program (LEAP) for At Risk Youth.
Me. Holden holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Management from the University of Redlands, and a Master of Science degree in Leadership and Management from the University of La Verne. In 1999, he was appointed by California Governor Gray Davis to the Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST). He has been married 25 years to his wife, Tammy, and has three daughters, Michelle, Jennifer and Brianna.
